The Simpsons (I Hope You’re Now Humming the Theme Song)

January 1, 2013

Lisa lovingly playing pokerI have to share this with you while you still have time to catch up/jump on the bandwagon.

The writing staff on The Simpsons is on fire this year!

(Of course, it helps that everyone who brings that writing to life is amazing as well.)

I know the Simpsons have been around for many years. (That (cartoon) family was on television before I was born!) And if you are not watching the current season, you are missing out!

In case you can’t tell by me often using Simpsons pictures in this blog (when I don’t know what other photos to pop in), I adore that show.

As I’ve said before, Lisa Simpson is a role model of mine (yes, even though she’s a cartoon). Don’t get me started on her, ’cause she’s incredible. (Yes, I know she’s not a real person. But she has the successes and failures, drive and passion, and the flaws and the heart of a real person.)

I just wanted to let you know, in case you also had fallen behind on Simpsons episodes that this season is spectacular. It’s what The Simpsons is all about – heartwarming episodes, many laugh-out-loud moments, laughter through tears. I love it.

The entire Simpsons family (Marge, Maggie, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie) except Homer Simpson petting Santa's Little Helper in "To Cur With Love" - The Simpsons season 24, episode 8For instance, I am almost inhuman, by most people’s standards, with my stone-cold heart when it comes to dogs. I don’t think dogs are cute. I never want to pet one. I just want to run from all dogs as fast as my legs can carry me, and never have my eyes gaze upon them. (I am terrified of all dogs who move or make noise.)

However, I was so touched by this episode that revolves around a person’s relationship with a dog – I actually really cared about it! (I had tears streaming down my face – as I laughed in parts! Laughter through tears, baby. The best emotion.)

(Note: Someday when the above link expires, the episode is called “To Cur With Love.” It’s episode 8 in season 24.)

I hope The Simpsons last for decades to come. The show is far too lovely to ever stop being in existence. Please, get on the bandwagon! Let’s all keep watching this show as it airs. And to everyone involved with the show, please keep it on forever. Okay, thanks. (Seriously, thank you for this amazing show you are bringing into our lives.)

I'd love to hear from you! So whaddya say?
