Picking up from last time –
Did you think there might be an icebreaker or something on the first night of BMI? ‘Cause you’d be wrong. There’s lots to learn and lots to do. So do it on your own time, friends.
We got cool BMI notebooks – ’cause we’re cool. And in BMI.
We got a lecture on music. (And the following week we got a lecture on lyrics.)
We got the rundown of how the program will go (which most people have already read about online).
We’ll have assignments (that you’ll hear about). We’re randomly paired with people through the end of the year.
At the end of 2nd year, we’ll perform our 4 best songs to see if we’ll be invited into 3rd year advanced. [*Dum dum duuuum*] Scary chords.
Afterward we all went to the “BMI Bar.” (It’s where the people hang out after BMI – it’s not called the BMI bar. Message me and I just may tell you which bar it is.)
We got our first assignment so all of us were talking to our partners. The first assignment was a happy goodbye or sad hello. I had tons of ideas and couldn’t want to talk about ’em all.
And that pretty much wraps up the night. 😛
Part of me feels like I need to have more to say for this blog post – like I’ve been spending sooooo much team leading up to getting in, that there should be some kind of incredible thing to say! Buuut, I’m sure there will be tons of stuff to talk about throughout the year. For now, let’s move on to what happened in life outside of the program!
