The Seinfeld Apartment!… Almost (December 20, 2015)

December 21, 2015

Aurora sad outside the Seinfeld apartment[This is another backdated post from my trip to Los Angeles this past December.]

Aye aye aye aye aye aye aye. I tried so hard to make this happen!

I got off of work for my final day at Macy’s – the week of Christmas! (I was an elf, and it was really awesome someone was willing to cover.)

I showed up to the airport first thing in the morning. (I was flying standby.)

I kept trying to get on flights – Burbank, LAX, whatever. It didn’t matter.

The person who was picking me up kept getting different info all day, as everything kept changing.

I went to the airport in this blue “Elaine” dress that I’d bought ’cause I thought it looked like her. I also got black shoes and white socks that looked similar to what she wore on the show. And I even got one of those brown bags she always wore. I was so into going to this apartment. I loooove Seinfeld!

The person who picked me up from the airport even brought me an oversized denim jacket to complete the look.

Once I finally arrived (in Burbank) after a very long day in airports (which, granted, was pretty much my fault for flying standby… I’m not complaining, just kinda stating facts here…)… Anyway! … We raced over to the Seinfeld apartment as fast as we could get there.

I leapt out of the car and went to grab our place in line while he parked.

The line was so long – so super, super long.

I was walking forever ’til I got to the end. (That’s a bit of a hyperbole. It couldn’t have been forever, because I did reach the end haha. But it was far indeed.)

The security guards at the back warned me I probably wouldn’t get up there. But I was not to be deterred. I might as well try, right?!

The line kept moving. We kept going, as it got closer to closing time…

And it got to the point where we could see the door.

Closing time came and went, and a few extra minutes passed. Maybe, just maybe, they’ll let us all in!

No. No they won’t. Oof.

Apparently there were some permits and things and they couldn’t keep it open any longer. And we were turned away.

Gah! Here’s hoping they do it in a permanent space on some tour or something… Who knows!

I'd love to hear from you! So whaddya say?
