Very recently – like yesterday, maybe? – I made a promise to myself that whenever I complain about something, I have to say three things that are good.
I have been spending *waaaaay* too much time in my life lately just complaining – about how hard things are, or how they’re not the way I planned, or blah blah blah.
So, I thought, “This must stop.”
Well, let’s get real. It’s probably not going to stop completely. I’m still going to complain. I’m still struggling with various things. But in the midst of complaining, I need to realize how lucky I am to be a woman in Manhattan.
So, this morning was the perfect chance to put that new rule into effect.
So, I’m thankful I live in the city of pigeons, ’cause I’ve dreamed of living in NY since I was just a little girl.
I’m thankful that I have the ability to work out. It was something I could only dream about when I was in the hospital. (I was coming home from my workout this morning, and it’s just nice that I got to do it.)
And I’m thankful that I have a job I really love – that doesn’t start first thing in the morning. So I have plenty of time to workout beforehand.
