A Nice Story From Starbucks

October 29, 2016

I know we’re in the midst of talking about some heavy stuff… But I’m in LA prepping for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon tomorrow. And this happened, and I just wanted to infuse this nice little story in the blog… Thanks!

A random story I thought was really fun…

I was meeting up with a good friend in LA, excited to catch up. He’d nicely come to the Starbucks in my neighborhood, so I was gonna treat. I had my app all open and ready to go, when I saw the girl in front of us had forgotten her wallet. So, I just swiped my phone for her. And she very sweetly thanked me profusely (which she so didn’t have to do, just for buying her coffee).

But then, my friend was like, “Oh, now this one’s on me,” once it was our order. And then the basrista was basically like, “No, me!” as he clicked away on his computer taking out charge after charge.

People were tripping over each other to pay. It was so super cute, and I loved being surrounded by all this wonderful niceness…

And then the girl saw us again as we all waited for our drinks, and she gave me a pack of gummy bears from her bag. She kept insisting she give me something and I told her she didn’t have to. But she really wanted me to have those gummy bears. And they’re super cute. So, I can’t wait to try them!

The point is, this was possibly the most adorable interaction I’ve seen at Starbucks. I want to strive to keep being nice wherever I can whenever I can, because I yearn to be in this gorgeous Starbucks utopia always.

I'd love to hear from you! So whaddya say?
