A short post today with one small thought..
One thing I’ve been thinking about sort of a lot-ish, is how I feel a little “harder” than I used to be – like a little more… calloused, is the best way I can think of to think of it… Like this layer of protection has formed…
And at first, I thought, “ugh! A callous?! I don’t want callouses? That sounds crummy!
But then, I remember callouses help ballet dancers. Sometimes they are protective in a good way… They’re not necessarily just this uncomfortable layer… They’re an uncomfortable layer that helps a dancer create this gorgeous art.
So, while I don’t feel super great in the moment about the idea of having callouses, I also wonder are they actually good for us and not harmful (as that seems to be sort of how they are for ballet dancers)?
I dunno. Just a thought.
