What’s the Deal with Subscribing?

Extra, extra, read all about it... and subscribe to my blog, please and thanks. Before I started blogging, I didn’t know a lot about the subscribing feature of a blog.

In the upper left hand corner of this blog, there’s a button that says “Bring the next post straight to me!” Then you can have my blog delivered to your inbox daily (or weekly)! You get to choose. You’ll never have to remember to come to this website to check it out. It’ll come to you.

Just make sure you actually check the first email you get and click the link to give it the ol’ go ahead, or else you will not get the posts. And then you’ll cry, and I’ll cry, and there’ll be far too much crying had by all.

Subscribing isn’t for everybody. I really enjoy this blog from television writer Ken Levine, but I don’t subscribe. I like checking his website every morning. To each their own. Some people are absolutely inundated with emails and do not want a blog to come to them. They’ll think, “Forget this!” And just delete it.

Some people like to have their “blog reading portion of the day (or week)” be a time when they just hit their favorite blogs that are all bookmarked. That’s cool. If that’s you, don’t subscribe, just do that.

One bonus of subscribing – as much as I do my best to keep the blog on schedule, sometimes I end up in places without internet or having a day that lasts 17 hours, and I don’t get a post up when I think I will. Or sometimes, there’s a computer glitch, and a posts misses publishing, and I have to go manually do it when I wake up (which may be later than you check the blog).

If you like the blog and you think you might forget to check it and then never remember to check it again, then forget what the blog address even was, then never see it again, go ahead and subscribe. I like having subscribers. It makes me feel special!

I promise to never sell (or give) your email address to anybody. It’s just used for this blog. So, think about it, and if you want an email everyday (or week), it’s available to you in the upper right hand corner.

Thanks!
