More of the 52 performances in 52 weeks!
Basically, these were a bunch of jams. I’m sorry to say I don’t have a ton of new stuff to say that you haven’t already heard in an improv jam type post.
One thing cool from each place:
1) At iO, I continued to meet even more new people. I absolutely love that place. It’s so welcoming, nurturing, and a fab little improv home.
2) Improv Space! I didn’t even know this place existed. It’s right by Native Foods. Welcoming improv and delicious vegan food. What more could you ask for?
3) I felt good about this one ’cause I felt I really listened. There was a scene where someone had talked about the mom, and I came on as the mom and totally played the game they set up (even though it meant being super mean and withholding of hugs, which is always a little hard for me, but hey! #EquityActress, baby!)
And there was another scene – though honestly, at this point I can’t remember if it was this jame or another one (sorry!), but I listened and a character was mentioned a lot who was never shown, so I came on as her and successfully wrapped up the show. And I feel good when it’s like, “Okay, maybe improv is potentially, possibly, perhaps, and actual skill-ish I have where people can be excited to play with me… maybe?” I don’t know. All I know is I felt great about my listening skills in that one. (Yay!)
