Once upon a time, I was walking down Franklin with a fun group of people.
And I saw Jason Ritter hanging out, outside this bar – also with a group of people. And our eyes half caught and he smiled at me.
In my head, I like to believe it’s ’cause I looked so great that night and he was like, “she’s so cute.” And then we were gonna be best friends forever.
In real life, I think it’s because he accidentally looked at me and smiles at everyone ’cause he’s such a kind, sweet dude.
Either way… I wanted to run up to him and tell him how much I adored him in Parenthood, and how fantastic he is. But alas, I didn’t.
I was a little too invested in just being with my group, ’cause it was my special goodbye night with this really precious group of friends. So, I was just theirs and they were just mine, with no distractions…
(Of course, chatting up a celebrity at a bar seems like a very goodbye night thing to do in Los Angeles, ’cause it’s so LA. But anyway… I stuck close to my group. And like ships passing in the night, we didn’t say hello…
Untiiiiiiil…
(He was in a play.)
And this is where I’ll pick up tomorrow.
