Picking up from yesterday –
So, then I play the game, which I have very much covered, in length.
(And the main behind-the-scenes thing about during-game-play is that we have to turn around completely so we can’t see anything they’re doing on the wheel as they change out wedges. We’re given make-up touchups and water and pep talks.)
When I’m done with the bonus round, the guys have already gotten their stuff and left. I get taken to a room to fill out the paperwork about accepting the trip. You have to sign paperwork whether you’re forfeiting it, or choosing not to forfeit it.
They give you the info for the people you’ll be communicating with. The people in the room are super nice, and congratulatory. They were complimentary and said they thought I was a good player. (They knew I was beating myself up about the bonus round, clearly, the world knew as it was all on camera.)
Then I’m taken back to the contestant room, which is empty as the people in the third show are on stage. I grab my stuff (including my phone out of my locker and everything), and then I’m walked out to where my friends are at the edge of the audience.
I think potentially had you really wanted to stick around and watch everyone else, I’m guessing they would’ve let you (though I’m not sure). But I’d already gone to a full standby tape date. And I figured I could see how everyone did when the shows aired.
Plus, I wanted to meet my friends. Sorta. I mean, I wanted to hide from my friends, because I felt bad that they’d showed up and didn’t even get to run onstage. (And, obviously, I was embarrassed.) But still. I wanted to see them.
So, I met up with them, we walked out of the Sony lot. We got some food. They were understanding, but also like… you gotta pull yourself together. You can’t be this upset about winning ~ $23,000 in cash & prizes.
And that was the day!
If I missed anything, please let me know!
[I do have a few FAQs and stuff I will be answering over the next few days, but that is indeed the gist of it all!]
Thanks for following along!
