So, I had a couple of weeks notice before I got the job in Mexico to go get my vaccines and everything.
And I got a trusty ol’ travel guide for La Paz and the surrounding area, and basically every single thing was like “scuba dive. Go scuba diving. Have you heard of scuba diving?”
So, I was like “okay then, I better go scuba diving!”
To do that, I needed to get certified.
And in order to get certified, I needed to learn how to swim!
I looked at various websites, and got a swim instructor – Jennif (like short for Jennifer). Love her.
And she patiently worked with me to be able to pass the swim test.
So, when it came to the actual certification, I went to Eco Dive in Culver City.
I picked up a book, went through it, answered the questions. Came back on the weekend and took the written exam, then went over to the pool.
At the pool, you had to pass the swim test. (I can’t believe in such a short time, I learned enough to be able to pass, but I did!) And then you had to do exercises with the scuba gear.
And that completed the first part! Then you had to do 4 practical dives. And those are coming up – in Mexico!
