Mmmm television. I love it so much!
One of the new shows this season I’ve been trying out is The Michael J. Fox Show. Are you all watching this? I know it’s getting a lot of mixed reviews. But here’s what I have to say about it.
For one thing, I love Betsy Brandt. Love her. Is she or is she not the most gorgeous woman on the planet? I don’t know what it is about her face and her hair, but she’s fabulous. So any excuse to see her on TV makes me happy.
(Side note: Speaking of actresses on the show, how happy am I for the very talented Katie Finneran? Small brag alert: I remember being her helper for the day at a charity event when she was not yet a TV person, but an honor even better – a Broadway star. She was so kind and funny and great. So I’m really excited to see her on TV.)
Also, you know what I love about this show? The dynamic between the main couple. I feel that oh so often on family sitcoms, the dad is so put-upon or the mom’s so controlling. I feel like we barely ever see any truly equal, caring, and loving relationships on television.
But in this show, Mike and Annie seem to totally love each other and totally have each other’s back. They both make slip ups, and they both have triumphs. And it’s really wonderful to watch such an incredible dynamic on my television (or really computer) screen each week.
That alone would be reason enough for me to watch the show.
