Interviewing At Tastemade (2019)

March 3, 2021

While I was working as a night assistant editor, I was looking for other things. What’s next, ya know?

Off of StaffMeUp, I got an interview with this place that basically edits food videos for social media. [If I find one, I’ll put it up here so you can see.]

The funniest part of the interview is I was a little… I dunno the word… cheeky, maybe? haha

With nothing to lose [as I was already employed. Plus, they’d stated this job for editing was gonna pay less than my AE job (I guess since this was just social media stuff, not TV)]…

Anyway, I had nothing to lose, so I asked an interesting question at the end.

They’d walked me around and I saw (fairly unsurprisingly) WAY more men than women editors (way more). So when they asked if I had any questions, I was like “yeah, where are the women?” Bahahaha.

They said that they’d had many women who moved on to bigger and better things. They were kinda like ‘I wish we had more women. The women are better than us.’ It was an interesting (and semi-funny) spin.

And this is where I’ll pick up tomorrow!

I'd love to hear from you! So whaddya say?
